TITLE:
OpenBB Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA15336
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/15336/
CRITICAL:
Moderately critical
IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data
WHERE:
>From remote
SOFTWARE:
OpenBB 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/1498/
DESCRIPTION:
Megasky has reported two vulnerabilities in OpenBB, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL
injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "TID" parameter in "read.php" isn't properly
sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
2) Input passed to the "reverse" parameter in "member.php" isn't
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.0.8. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
