VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Not critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting

WHERE:
Local system

SOFTWARE:
Pragma TelnetServer 6.x
http://secunia.com/product/5228/

DESCRIPTION:
rgod has reported a vulnerability in Pragma TelnetServer, which can
be exploited by malicious, local users to conduct script insertion
attacks.

The problem is that various user actions are not properly sanitised
before being logged. This can be exploited to obfuscate and hide HTML
log entries or inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be
executed in an administrator's browser session when the HTML log file
is viewed locally.

Successful exploitation requires that the "Keep logfile using HTML
format" setting is enabled (not default setting).

The vulnerability has been reported in version 6.0. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Disable the "Keep logfile using HTML format" setting.
