IMPACT:

WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
BMForum Plus! 2.x
http://secunia.com/product/5450/

DESCRIPTION:
Lostmon has reported some vulnerabilities in BMForum Plus!, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks.

Input passed to the "page" and "filename" parameters in "topic.php",
the "listby", "jinhua" and "page" parameters in "forums.php", the
"forumid" parameter in "post.php" and the "forumid" parameter in
"announcesys.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to
the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script
code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

It is also possible to disclose the full path to certain scripts by
accessing them directly and disclose some system information via
certain files exposed inside the web root.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 2.6.1. The release
candidates 3.0 RC1 through 3.0 RC4 is also affected. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
