DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Xerox WorkCentre Pro and
Xerox WorkCentre, which can be exploited by malicious people to
bypass certain security restrictions, conduct cross-site scripting
attacks, or cause a Denial of Service (DoS).

1) Unspecified errors in the authentication process can be exploited
to bypass the user authentication and gain unauthorised access.

2) An unspecified error within the processing of Postscript requests
can be exploited to cause a DoS via a specially crafted request.

3) Unspecified input passed to certain web pages is not properly
sanitised before being returned to users. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of a vulnerable site.

4) Unspecified errors can be exploited to reduce the effectiveness of
certain security features.

The vulnerabilities affect the following products:

  • WorkCentre 232, 238, 245, 255, 265, and 275.
  • WorkCentre Pro 232, 238, 245, 255, 265, and 275.

SOLUTION:
Install System Software Version 14.027.24.015 or 13.027.24.015 (the
software versions can be obtained by contacting Xerox customer
support).
