SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Less critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
Inprotect 0.x
http://secunia.com/product/8745/

DESCRIPTION:
$um$id has discovered two vulnerabilities in Inprotect, which can be
exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed to the "Name" and "Description" fields when editing
zones in "zones.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used. This
can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will
be executed in e.g. an administrator's browser session in context of
an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed.

Successful exploitation requires that the user has "Manage Zones and
Server" permissions.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.21. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
