RESOLUTION

HP has provided the following procedure to resolve this vulnerability.

There are two ways to work around the vulnerability:

Disable discovery through Secure NaviCLI
OR
Limit login access and restrict privileges for Storage Essentials users

Disable discovery through Secure NaviCLI

To disable discovery through Secure NaviCLI

Set the following custom property in the management server user interface by going to Configuration > Product Health >
Advanced > Custom Properties:
cimom.provider.clariion.secure=false
Stop the management server service
Move the management server log file (appstormanager.log) and the associated rolled log files into a secure location.
Restart the management server service

Note: When the custom property, cimom.provider.clariion.secure , is set to false the management server will be unable to
manage CLARiiON arrays through Secure NaviCLI. CLARiiON systems will no longer be discovered by the management server
through Secure NaviCLI.

Note: The log files may be discarded when they are no longer needed for diagnostic purposes.

Limit login access and restrict privileges for Storage Essentials users

If the procedure above is not chosen, the vulnerability can be worked around by limiting login access and restricting
privileges for Storage Essentials users.

Limit login access to the Storage Essentials management server file system to those who need to know the access
credentials of the elements managed by Storage Essentials.
Do not give users “Domain Admin” privileges unless necessary.
Do not give users a role with “System Configuration” rights unless necessary.
